Grave Digger

Dig up old graves
just to make new ones,
piling body upon body;
I recognize the faces
but don't feel anything,
numbed by all the years of goodbyes.
Pack them in tight,
family, friends, lovers.
No need for headstones,
their names are engraved in my skin.
Burying them I know,
they'll always be haunting my memories.
